Dr. Dawn Mriss
DVM
Dr. Dawn Mriss started her journey to being a veterinarian after volunteering as a kennel hand in 1993 under Dr. Bailey, the former owner of our hospitals. It was during her time as a volunteer, that she found her true passion for veterinary medicine. She has worked in many positions in veterinarian hospitals over the years, but has always called Lehighton Animal Hospital and St. Francis Animal Hospital home. Dr. Dawn graduated from Mississippi State School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Upon graduating in 2005, she came back home and has been a Doctor at both hospitals ever since. As of July 30, 2018 she became the owner of the newly named Doctor Dawn’s LLC where she will continue to practice. Dr. Dawn has a beloved Labrador retriever named Maverick that can frequently be found in the office and a cat named Onyx. She is a proud mother of two children, Brian and Brynn and wife to Patrick. Some of her favorite times are cheering on her children at sporting events or camping with her family.
Dr. Christopher Carpenter
DVM
For as long as Dr. Christopher Carpenter can remember he has wanted to be a veterinarian. He has been practicing small animal medicine for 23 years. Originally from the area, Dr. Carpenter graduated from Lehighton Area High School with the Class of 1987. He continued his education at East Stroudsburg University earning both his Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s Degree in Biology. He graduated from Iowa State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Carpenter is happily married to his wife, Kelli for 27 years. They have two sons, both of whom are currently in college. The family has Seuss, a rescue cat and their newest addition, Rigly, who is a beagle puppy that completes their family.
